Waterfront Housing
A £5M mixed commercial/residential waterfront development has recently taken place at Holyhead Marina, and has proved to be very popular. Planning consent also exists to convert the nearby Porthyfelin House into flats and the development of new houses in the grounds. Other waterfront residential planning applications are being considered for this part of Holyhead.

Housing Improvement
As a town which expanded rapidly during the 19th century, Holyhead has many older terraced houses. Many of these were improved as part of the £10M ten-year Holyhead Housing Renewal Area scheme. Housing improvement grants continue to be available in eligible cases. A three year £4M housing improvement programme is currently underway.
